Qur’anic Views on Dancing for Muslims

Posted by on November 30, 2015

Doing some research into the Topic of Islam’s rules on dancing, I found an interesting Q&A website with Tafsir from prominent Sunni scholars. From the article, the author, Shaykh Muhammad Saalih al-Munajjid, a Sunni Salafi cleric denounces music and dance because it provokes physical desires and whims. I’d have to warn anyone wanting to read it that the article consists mostly of Isnad and can be difficult to comprehend. Provided you have the time and patience, this is a great exercise in understanding the chain of command which dictates rhetoric for the Salafi Muslim community. I do alot of research into conservative christian doctrines but I’ll have to add Al-Munajjid to my list of Clerics to watch since he has put out some very interesting Literalist preaching ideas.
